FUQT is a fully analog, 4-pole, -24dB/octave low-pass filter with dynamic resonance distortion. It can transform tame signals into bold, unpredictable textures or serve as a sweet 'n fat LPF.
This module features input and output VCAs, attenuverters for all parameters, and maintains bass frequencies even with high resonance due to the absence of Q passband attenuation.
We stumbled upon the FUQT parameter by accidentally connecting points incorrectly during the prototyping stage. This happy accident produced a crazy distortion the likes of which we hadn’t heard before. The FUQT parameter introduces input-responsive resonance distortion, adjusting its behavior based on the input signal. This causes the frequency control to exhibit an effect akin to sample rate degradation, sweeping through accentuated harmonics in a stair-stepped manner and dynamically shaping the sound in response to the incoming audio.
A pre-filter input gain switch allows for quick changes in distortion intensity, easily altering the module’s character. FUQT also doubles as a sine or pulse-like wave VCO, capable of self-oscillation with temperature-compensated v/oct tracking, spanning at least two octaves.
